Event-Based Tagging

Event-based tagging provides near real-time, automated tagging of AWS resources as they are created. Events are received via cloudtrail, there might be a short delay before the event is recevied on our end so the tag might be applied with a slight delay. Usually up to 2 minutes of delay.

How It Works

  1. CloudTrail logs resource creation events
  2. EventBridge routes events to TagOps
  3. TagOps evaluates events against rules
  4. Tags applied within seconds of resource creation

Requirements

  • CloudTrail enabled in AWS account
  • EventBridge configured
  • Tagging rules defined
